OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of the Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the “8 Recovery Principles.” This experience allows us to “be changed.” We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives’ problems. By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually.

We become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power – Jesus Christ, the one and only true Higher Power.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16

FAQ's

Who should attend Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is a twelve step program modeled after AA but based on 8 principles in the Beatitudes. It is a pathway to freedom and abundant living for people struggling with everything from insecurity to drug addiction and everything in between. The program can help people with co-dependency, anger issues, food addictions, gambling addictions, domestic violence, and financial irresponsibility. The truth is if we are a member of the human race, we probably struggle with a hurt, habit or hang-up. We can all benefit from Celebrate Recovery.

What do you do at the meetings?
At 7:00 PM we have a large group meeting with worship with either a lesson or a testimony. Sometimes we have guest speakers or a drama. At 8:00 PM we go to gender-specific smaller groups that we call Open Share Groups. This is a time to share your struggles with others and there is a strictly enforced confidentiality policy. Sharing is optional. You may choose just to listen.
How do I know my sharing will be confidential?

Confidentiality and anonymity are part of the small group guidelines. These guidelines are strictly enforced. A leader will deal swiftly with any infraction and the participants are continually reminded of that. Ultimately we must begin to trust the people within our group and God.

Do I have to attend an Open Share Group?

Celebrate Recovery is completely voluntary and that includes all of the meeting opportunities. You can attend the large group meeting without going to an Open Share Group.
